As a former classroom teacher of 7 years (5th, 6th and 7th grades), and current private piano instructor, Hesterberg has extensive experience working with children and youth. As the featured guest speaker at the Central College Banquet for incoming freshman and their families in 2004, Hesterberg fell in love with public speaking. She also led a breakout session at the State TAFE (Texas Association of Future Educators) Competition in 2012 and has been the keynote speaker for a number of local and regional events since then.
